Spend some time with  your child exploring this site.
As our students work through this school year, many will be learning research techniques online as well as in textbooks. River Valley Elementary students have access to WorldBook Online. Our students use this online resource during computer lab. They can access this same site at home by logging on to:  worldbookonline.com/The River Valley login is: rivervalley11 and our password is: mustangs.  There are many great resources within this site including a section just for kids!

Time to Register your Preschooler
Remember, it is time to register your preschooler or kindergartener for the 13-14 school year.   Any child that will be 4 by November 1st or 5 by November 1st should stop at either of our campuses to fill out enrollment information for school.   No appointment is necessary to enroll.    Preschool parents must bring proof of income.  Both preschool and kindergarten parents must bring a copy of their child’s birth certificate and immunization record.   

“School of Choice” openings for the River Valley School district has limited openings for the 2013-2014 school year in the following grades: Kindergarten - Unlimited, 3rd grade - 4, 4th grade - 8, 5th grade – 12. School of Choice applications will only be accepted through Friday, June 14, 2013. For additional information, please contact the school office: 756-9050. >Application

RV Challenge: Our year-end field day, RV Challenge will take place on Monday, June 3rd at Chikaming School. Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grades will be in the morning from 8:30am to 10:30am. 3rd, 4th and 5th grades will be in the afternoon, from 12:00pm to 2:00pm. We will need about a dozen volunteers for each session to run the stations. The events are not hard to manage, and the staff and kids know what to do from previous years. If you would like to help out, please call the school office 756-9050 or 426-4204 or return the note going home in Friday folders.

"It's Elementary" – is our very own radio show every Monday on WRHC, 106.7 FM. It is broadcast at 7:30 am and then rebroadcast the same day at 4:00 pm. If you can’t find it on the radio WRHC streams live at www.radioharborcountry.org. Our students share writings, sing songs and share news of what is happening in our school and community. Our show airs Monday mornings at 7:30AM and is replayed Monday afternoons at 4:00PM.

"It's Elementary" is produced weekly by Mrs. Moore, our Chikaming campus library assistant, and a talented group of 4th and 5th grade volunteers. We are the only elementary school in the world with its own weekly radio show. "It's Elementary" is underwritten by the generosity of Lake Michigan College.
