Children's Vision Program
The Pokagon Fund and the New Buffalo Lions Club are working together to provide comprehensive eye exams to all children ages 9 months through 6th grade who reside in the Harbor Country Service Area. To arrange for a child's eye exam, you will need to complete an application and submit it to the New Buffalo Lions Club for approval. Applications are available in the Student Services office or online at www.newbuffalolions.org or www.pokagonfund.org.

Come Walk In Comfort
The Middle/High School building is open to community members from 3:00 - 7:00 Monday-Friday (note extended hours) for walking or jogging on the days school is in session. Signs have been posted throughout the building showing different routes and estimated mileage. |
In order to communicate with stakeholders, there will be opportunities throughout the school year for parents and community members to meet with the superintendent. These community meetings will focus on questions and concerns about our current educational programs. The meetings will also offer an opportunity for stakeholders to participate in our educational process by generating ideas for future programs.

| Parent Viewer— Parent Viewer allows you to view your student’s grades and attendance online. You are able to view your student’s current information as well as information from previous marking periods. You can even choose to have automatic emails sent to notify you of grade changes according to the parameters you set. To access Parent Viewer, you will need to have your student’s id number and the assigned password. This information was in a letter you received at the beginning of the school year. A link to the Parent Viewer can be found on the yellow tab at the top of our webpages. |

| Call Toll-Free — River Valley has an 800 number available for your use. The number is 800-605-8623. Just as with our local numbers, this number dials into our switchboard system. |
|
Email Address Changes—Changes of email address for the RV News newsletter can be sent to rvnews@rivervalleyschools.org. We are willing to send the newsletter to multiple email addresses (home, work, both parents, etc.). We also encourage submission of email addresses for non-custodial parents. If you known of River Valley Middle/High School families who are not receiving the email, please encourage them to connect the above email address or the school office. |
Instant Alert
We will be using the “Instant Alert” system again this year to let you know important information as it occurs throughout the school year. The system is ready to use at https://instantalert.honeywell.com. We encourage all of you to take advantage of this opportunity, as we will be utilizing this system for most of our school-to-home communication. Check the instant alert website and be sure your information is up-to-date.
