About me...
I received my teaching degree from Grand Valley State University in 2003 and started teaching here at River Valley the following fall. This is my ninth year here, and I take great pride in our school and our students. I absolutely love my job and its challenges, especially when it comes to helping students to enjoy literature and the English language. I also completed my Master’s Degree in Curriculum, Assessment and Instruction, which is an area of education that fascinates me.
This year I am teaching English 11 and College English 12, a dual-enrollment course in which high school students earn college credit through Lake Michigan College. I have also been the yearbook advisor for six years, and we are currently working to make the 2012 yearbook the best yet!
On a personal note, I have been happily married to my husband Casey for four years, and we have two young sons, Eli and Jonah, who keep us VERY busy!
