World History Inclusion

Assignments and Tests:

Your child’s grade is based on assignments and tests given in class.  Lesson planning and instruction is conducted by Mr. Foreman.  Accommodations or adjustments may be made on the assignments or tests depending on your child's IEP and the needs of the special education students in general.  Mrs. Sykora grades and records the assignments.  A grade may also be given for classroom behavior.

  • Late work is accepted if it is an accommodation on your child's IEP.
  • Notes:  I provide a structured notes packet for each chapter (fill-in the blank style).  These notes have all test items included and items needed for Mr. Foreman's yes/no activity.  It is your child's responsibility to complete the notes prior to class.
  • Journals:  Journals are assigned to the class on Tuesday and Thursday.  I require one journal each week; due on Friday.  Your child may select either of the topics given that week.  Journals may be typed by your child if he/she desires.  Please double-space (line spacing) and use a font that is easily readable.  Journals are graded using a rubric.
  • News:  News episodes are viewed on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.  I expect that your child should be able to answer 5 questions correctly for each news episode.  A typical news quiz has between 8-15 questions.  This totals 90 points for the marking period.  Anything above 90 points would be considered extra credit.
  • Reports:  Written reports may be typed by your child if he/she desire’s.  Please double-space (line spacing) and use a font that is easily readable.  Reports are graded using a rubric.

Classroom Rules & Responsibilities:

I follow Mr. Foreman's classroom rules and procedures.

Parent-Teacher Conferences & Questions:

Although Mr. Foreman provides the class instruction, Mrs. Sykora is most able to answer questions regarding your child's progress in World History.  Please refer to Mr. Foreman's Page for additional information.
