NOTE: INCLEMENT WEATHER/SCHOOL CLOSING INFORMATION FOR SCHOOL OF CHOICE STUDENTS

Bus transportation may be provided between Galien and River Valley Schools for school-of choice students on the days that Galien Schools close or delay due to adverse weather conditions. Alternate locations have been designated for the pick up and drop off of school-of-choice students if road conditions allow

Weather permitting, the designated stops will be Second Street next to the library and the intersection of Karen Drive and Greenlawn Street.  Approximate pick up times will be 6:40 for MHS students and 7:40 for elementary students.  Drop off at these locations will be 3:00 for MHS students and 4:15 for elementary students.

In order to transport school-of-choice students through a delayed or closed district into an open district, the main route (not alternate route) must be considered passable by the transportation department, with possible consultation with Berrien County Road Commission and Sheriff.

If River Valley is closed, no routes will be run to any location or school.

If you have questions concerning road conditions, please call Mrs. Weigel at 756-7899.

Bus Information for the 11-12 School year -

For the start of the 2011-12 school year, all bus routes will remain the same as the end of the previous school year.  As student information and locations are updated, there may then be a few minor adjustments.  Drivers will remain on the same routes with changes to assigned buses only.  Those bus assignments are as follows:

     Daniel will remain #6
     Devenport will now be #4
     Knapp will remain #5
     Shriber will now be #11
     Payne will remain #3
     Lubarski will remain #9
     Schedler will now be #2

Please note that the above order is also the afternoon line-up order of buses at dismissal time for Middle High School students.

Parents picking up their 6th graders in the afternoons may continue to do so in the front of the Middle High School Campus at the south end of the front drive. While parked and waiting for your student, please do not impede the movement of the school buses entering and exiting.  You may be asked to move your vehicle if a problem develops.  Parents picking up students in grades 7 through 12 are asked to make arrangements with their student to do so at either the north end in the student parking lot or in the back at the southwest side of the building.  Our concern is the safety of all our students, both on and off the buses.  Your assistance and compliance in this matter will be greatly appreciated!

If you need transportation information, need to report an address change or to notify the Transportation Department that your child(ren) is or is not riding the bus, you may call 756-7899.  If you leave a message, someone will return your call as soon as possible.

The Elementary Back-to-School Night is scheduled for Wednesday, August 31, from 4:30 to 6:30 on the Middle High School Campus.  All of the route drivers will be in attendance and able to answer questions and give route information for both Middle High School and Elementary School routes.  Lots of great activities are planned and students of all ages and grades are welcome!  We look forward to seeing you there!

Welcome back and have a great school year!
