In my last issue of Mustang Matters, I wrote about the major facility work our board approved in April. This work includes a new roof on much of the MHS as well as many new doors in the MHS. Unfortunately, that work has been delayed due to difficulty getting a permit from the state, but we did just receive it. The roofing materials have been delivered and work will begin next week. Our contractors are confident they can have the work completed by Mid-August, I am grateful to say.
Our district has many facility needs, which will be costly, so we are being very fiscally responsible to stretch the limited resources we have as far as they can reasonably go. Our architects, Wightman, will be doing a comprehensive Facility Master Plan in the fall once these projects are completed to help guide our facility improvement process. This will allow us to continually improve our school facilities to provide an excellent learning environment as called for in our Strategic Plan. We are excited to be able to make some substantial progress updating our Middle High School!
